Small Projects

During my coop, there were other smaller projects that I handled on a daily basis. These projects were designed in SolidWorks and then 3D printed for testing before being manufactured at either the in-house machine shop or outsourced to another manufacturer

PCB Enclosure

Following the direct instructions of the engineer for this project, I modeled, 3D printed, and tested this PCB enclosure from start to finish. This required multiple redesigns due to defects in the 3D prints and the sizing of the cutouts for each testing pad. This design was initially going to be a polyurethane injection mold, but due to uncertain demand, this was reconsidered, and sheet metal was proposed as an alternative, however this design would not be able to made in sheet metal due to each side being connected. A cut at each corner would be needed in order to be a valid design for sheet metal.

Rat Goal Box

This project required remaking old designs from an outdated AutoCAD file that were no longer being manufactured en masse and making them in SolidWorks to be sold for custom orders. Due to their simple designs and low volume order, they were manufactured at the in-house machine shop
